Sandart was founded in 2002 by Henry and Carolyn Joubert after noticing parents at local craft markets struggling to keep young children engaged. With no suppliers to turn to, the couple began developing their own product from their home in Wilderness, along the scenic Garden Route coastline. Through months of hands-on experimentation with coloured sand, adhesive cards, and packaging, they pioneered Sandart’s signature peel-and-pour method, designed specifically for children to enjoy independently and confidently.  

As word spread and demand grew, Sandart opened its first manufacturing facility in George, Western Cape.

Over the past two decades, the brand has continued to innovate, producing high-quality, non-toxic kits that combine fun with learning.
